We had quite an exciting and productive 2024!!

1. The Justice Building Addition and the UAPB LA Davis Student Union Renovation won awards at the AIA Arkansas Design Awards. ASU Ed Comm Student Lounge and the Clementine on College won awards at the ASID South Central Excellence in Design Awards.

2. We entered some local competitions at the end of the year and won first place in each -- MacArthur Park Unleashed Shade Structure Competition and the Downtown Holiday Window Decorating contest.

3. We had several projects come to completion in 2024: Argenta Parklets, Justice Building Addition, LA Davis Student Union Renovation, and the CALS Williams Library Renovation.

4. Two major projects are now under construction in full swing! ArtSpace Windgate Campus and the UAPB Student Engagement Center.

5. Last but not least, we traveled to Paris in September and had the best time exploring the pedestrian-friendly streets and inspiring public spaces of this beautiful city. This knowledge and inspiration will push us forward into 2025 with a new lens for future projects!

Jacob is a licensed architect who has worked in Little Rock for more than 20 years as a project manager, designer, and detailer. He has contributed to many project types including child care, primary education, corporate, health care, civic, and residential. He also had the opportunity to teach architecture at a local high school for 5 years, where he enjoyed getting to share his passion for design with high school students. He earned a Professional Bachelors of Architecture from Louisiana Tech University.

Jacob considers it a significant responsibility to be entrusted with making spaces where people live, learn, and work. His career has been focused around making highly functional, high quality spaces within the limitations of budget and constructability. Through this, he has developed unique technical knowledge around using typical building techniques to design and detail interesting and useful buildings.

Malin Opitz’s amazing life inspired so many of you, none more than her work families at PSW and AMR. Malin, we saw your thoughtfulness, fearlessness, brilliance, and creativity blossom and grow from the day you were born, hanging out at our offices with Patty and Jonathan. You cracked us up with your wit, and astonished us with your drawings. Your competitive salesmanship made us want to buy mountains of Girl Scout cookies! Even when you weren't around we heard every day from your doting parents of your accomplishments, adventures and all the ways you filled them with pride. We were extremely sad to hear of Stephen Lilley's passing this week. He worked on many of AMR's notable projects and one of our favorite contributions to the firm (aside from his humor) was his artistic talent.
